Sam Burr is a third-year medical student at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. Sam graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017 where he majored in Sociology and went on to work as a client engagement specialist with the late, great Austin Recovery and as the manager of the Micah 6 food pantry. Sam is excited to work with familiar faces as many of the clients he served at the food pantry are based out of Esperanza. He's particularly driven to introduce a more concerted effort to perform motivational interviews during clinic hours to elicit change talk in patients suffering from substance use disorders.
