Rachel grew up in Coppell, TX and first came to Austin in 2014 for undergrad. She got her degree in Neuroscience at UT Austin, where she also became involved with Texas 4000 for Cancer. During the summer of 2018, she and her teammates bicycled across the country from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska and together raised almost a million dollars for cancer research and support services. Now she is a 3rd-year medical student planning to go into Oncology, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a physician. She elected to take a class on Understanding Homelessness during medical school which opened her eyes and passion to care for underserved populations. Her other interests include addiction medicine, sparked from her Neuroscience background. Outside of school, Rachel is married to her wonderful husband Mark and they recently adopted a kitten named Roy. In her role as COO, Rachel hopes to promote health equity in a practical way by providing valuable, empathetic care to all who walk in our doors at CDD.
