Maria Ghaly graduated in Spring 2023 from The University of Texas at Austin with a BSA in biology, a field of study in psychology, and a certificate in social inequality, health, and policy. She is especially interested in the topics of community engagement, health education, health disparities, and accessibility within research and medicine. Outside of C. D. Doyle, she pursues these interests through her work as a researcher and leader in the Park and Osier Labs, Director of Programming for the Health Leadership Apprentice Program, and patient care technician. As the C. D. Doyle Outreach Coordinator, she focuses on organizing need-based initiatives that support patients’ well-being beyond the clinic, including meal distribution events, donation drives, and the creation of heat and wound care kits. Additionally, she strives to develop and strengthen partnerships with student groups, local organizations, and businesses to broaden our impact within the community. Her ultimate career goal is to work with underserved populations as a physician, advocating for increased access to high-quality, holistic, empathetic, patient-centered care. In her free time, Maria enjoys traveling to new places, painting nature scenes, and crocheting small gifts for her friends.
