Danica is pursuing a Dual Masters in Social Work and Masters in Public Health through UT/UTHealth. Her past experiences include working as a Research Coordinator at Baylor College of Medicine with the goal aid in development of effective cognitive treatments for individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorders. Following this, she completed an AmeriCorps service year with Foundation for the Homeless and Caritas of Austin. Through this, Danica had the opportunity to work alongside individuals and families experiencing homelessness through rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing programs.
In her current work at Dell Medical School, she is developing a curriculum aimed at enhancing understanding of individuals experiencing homelessness, to be shared with medical schools across Texas. Danica is immensely passionate about helping those experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and severe mental illness, and is looking forward to serving individuals in need within the C.D. Doyle Clinic.
In her spare time, Danica enjoys cooking with her husband, reading, going for a hike, and exploring Austin.
