Krishna Hariprasad Undergraduate Education & Research Director
Krishna is a third-year Biology and Government student at The University of Texas at Austin. Passionate about leveraging medicine as a tool for social justice and policy reform, he worked with the US-UK Fulbright Commission, traveling to Northern Ireland to study the psychological histories behind social divisions and community relations. As part of the Health Science Scholars honors program, his thesis explores the intersectional stigma faced by individuals living with chronic sexually transmitted infections (STIs) while experiencing homelessness in Austin, focusing on how this stigma affects their interactions with healthcare providers and access to care. Krishna has volunteered with the C.D. Doyle Clinic since his freshman year and, as the Education & Research Director, he is dedicated to enhancing volunteer engagement through topical health equity sessions, connecting volunteers with patient-centered clinic research opportunities, and ensuring comprehensive training for team members providing clinical care to residents of the Esperanza Community. He enjoys reading, playing guitar, and exploring Austin’s cat cafes—pretending he isn’t allergic to cats.
