Lorenzo Sanchez is a senior at UT Austin who is majoring in Biology and completing a certificate in Social Inequalities in Health & Policy. It seems like it was just yesterday that he first stepped foot on the forty acres in fall of 2015. During his freshmen year he was a member of TIP Scholars, an interest group in UT’s College of Natural Science, which helped catapult his college career. He was inspired by the student leaders of TIP to follow in their footsteps, so he became a TIP Course Assistant and Mentor the following year and continues to serve the organization to this day. His life goal is to become a physician leader and catalyst for health care reform in Texas. He hopes to see a day where all Texans, regardless of socioeconomic background, can receive health coverage.
On his down-time, he enjoys hanging out with his fraternity brothers from Alpha Sig and throwing dinner parties with his friends from TIP. This year he hopes to make the most of his time in Austin, as well as to find a local job in health care administration.
